Blitz’s Story:

Blitz came into my life after being rescued from a high‑kill shelter in Mexico. I’m forever grateful to the rescue that pulled him from death row and gave him a chance—because that’s how he found his way to me.

He wasn’t just a dog. He was different. Full of personality, energy, and a presence that filled our home in a way that can’t be replaced.

The Moment Everything Changed:

In December 2024, everything changed.

After a misdiagnosis, I trusted my instincts and had his labs rechecked. Within minutes, I was told his platelet count was zero and to go straight to the emergency vet.

What followed were months of uncertainty, impossible decisions, and more than $40,000 in attempts to save him.

At one point, I was asked to pay $13,000 up front just to begin. No payment plan, no alternatives.

The Reality Most People Face:

I was fortunate to be able to pay the funds. But, most people can’t.

And that means making an impossible choice in a moment of crisis.

Why The Blitz Foundation Exists:

Despite everything, I lost him.

And in that moment, I realized this isn’t just my story. This happens to pet owners every single day.

Our mission is simple: help pet owners facing emergencies get access to the care their pets need without being blocked by financial barriers. No one should have to choose between their pet’s life and money.
